LONG TERM INVESTING

WITH YOUR OWN 'PRIVATE TUTOR'

Click on a thumbnail in the left column to view a larger image.

Long Term Investing is all about finding Stocks that you believe will increase (or decrease) in Value over a number of Years.

These are usually Stocks, but can also include Index Funds like the one for the S&P 500 Companies Basket called "Spiders", or the Nasdaqs' "QQQQ", or the Dows' "Diamonds".

A big part of finding Stocks to invest in Long Term, is if they offer 'Dividends'. Over a period of time, the Dividends can add up to a substantial sum.

What this entails is taking a position to go either 'Long' or 'Short' on the Market, depending on if the Market is in a 'Bull' or 'Bear' phase of movement.

There are many advantages to Long Term Investing, if you don't have a lot of time to watch the Market.

At the end of each month, you look at your Portfolio, and realocate positions to your advantage. Some people only realocate their Positions on a Quarterly, or even a Yearly basis.

What you are doing when you realocate Positions, is selling a portion, or all of your weaker Positions, to buy more of the ones that are doing well.

There are many different Strategies to Long Term Investing.

Some Traders will Only get involved with Blue Chip Dow Stocks that pay a good Dividend.

While some Traders will look for Story Stocks, that are in their Development Phase that look to have a very promising future in the next few years as they grow.

A lot of these kinds of Stocks can be found on the Nasdaq Over The Counter Bulletin Board Exchange (OTC.BB) and I have done some very successfull Investing in that arena in the last few years.

I held a Large position in a OTC.BB Start Up Company from $.50 for over two years without seeing much movement in the share price.

One day, News came out that they had signed a significant Contract to do business with China. In less than two months, it rose from $1.50 to almost $6.50!

I have had good success with stocks that are listed on the Big Boards too.

I bought five thousand shares of YHOO back in October of 2002 at $7.00/share. It went up to $72.00 then did a two for one split back to $36.00 and then moved back up into the mid $40.00 range at the end of 2005

Early in June of 2005, I bought 10K shares of RBAK at $5.50 and in the first week of 2006, it broke above $15.00 briefly.

I have many other stocks that we have successfully traded on a Long Term Basis. Ask me about the ones You are interested in, and I will give you a full analysis of them.

My wife is the Swing Trader and Long Term Holder of the family, and she has a knack for picking good stocks before a Major Run.

She is always asking me to look at charts and do research for her, so I have a real good idea of which Stocks 'may' be the next big Winners in the years to come.
